Bay oil
PRIMENTA RACAMOSA- The oil from the bay tree reminds us of the typical smell of cloves. It stimulates the brain and supports concentration due to its fresh, spicy and strong scent. It is often used in mouth and hair wash (shampoos) as well as body care products due to its antiseptic properties.
- Important characteristics: highly antibacterial, highly antiviral, antifungal, stimulating, and an aphrodisiac.
Bergamot oil
CITRUS BERGAMIA- Adds sunshine into the dark mind, adds light to the dark time (of year). The bergamot – named after the Italian town of Bergamo in Lombardy – has been well-known for its medicinal properties for years.
Christopher Columbus is said to have brought the bergamot tree from the Canary islands to Spain and Italy. The essence is suitable in its topical use for skin care products e.g. acne and impure, greasy skin. It can be added to creams, lotions, hair and massage oils, deodorants as well as perfume and pomades (please consider phototoxic effects!). The oil should always be used in a diluted form as it may cause skin irritations when used in its undiluted form. - Important characterics: helps with acne, greasy and impure skin, antiseptic, epithalizing, skin regeneration, important main indications are insomnia, nervosity, distress, mature and wrinkly skin, scars.
Blood orange oil
CITRUS SINENSIS- The blood orange, in Latin citrus sinensis, is an evergreen citrus plant of the rue family. The essential blood orange oil is produced by the cold pressing of the fruit skins and has a light, yellowish red colour. Blood orange oil is used as an ingredient in body care products due to its eudermic properties.
- Important characterics: disinfectant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and helps with acne, spots and psoriasis.
Cajuput oil
MELALEUCA LEUCADENDRA- This oil was brought to Europe by the Dutch in the 17th century and was used back then for many infectious diseases and tooth ache. In the western world, cajuput oil is used in dental medicine and is deemed to have antiseptic properties. The oil has a strong scent, camphor like fresh with fruity undertones.
- Important characterics: extensively antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, strong analgesic, cooling, refreshing, awakening, increases concentration, clears the head – in general but also when suffering from head colds.
Cananga oil
CANANGA ODORATA- Cananga is derived from the same plant as Ylang-Ylang. For cananga, however, the whole plant is used not only a part of it. Cananga oil, like all essential oils, has an effect on a person's psyche and body. The transitions can be hardly noticeable. Cananga oil for example can establish trust and convey a sense of security. It supports a positive mindset as well as release feelings and open new paths. Generally, it has a calming effect on many people
- Important characterics: calming effect, relaxing, lightens the mood and helps with greasy skin, antiseptic, cares for skin and hair
Elemi oil
CANARIUM LUZONICUM- Elemi is use for skin care, for respiratory complaints and as a general stimulant. Elemi is a fragrance that was already used in ancient Egypt for embalmment. The scent of elemi is light, fresh, balsamic-spicy with citrus undertones.
- Important characterics: wound healing, antiseptic, helps with abscesses and scarring
Eucalyptus oil
EUCALYPTUS GLOBOLUS- The origin of the eucalyptus globules tree is in Australia. The original inhabitants of Australia, the aborigines, already valued its healing powers. The essential oil is mainly harvested from the eucalyptus globules. The fast-growing tree was cultivated in the entire Mediterranean region to dry-up marshland during the 18th century.
The tree is commonly also known as the fever tree as eucalyptus oil is used to lower temperatures during infectious diseases. It is mainly used for its strong germicidal and expectorant effect on respiratory diseases. The oil, which is contained in the leaves and branches, is produced using steam distillation. 50 kilogram of dried plant material produces about 1 kilogram of oil. - Important characterics: stimulating and refreshing, antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial, cooling, anti-inflammatory
Geranium oil
PELARGONII ODORANTISSIMI- The oil is produced from the leaves of the rose geranium. Geranium oil smells lovely and flowery and reminds one of roses. It is very good for the skin and suitable for any skin type, it is often used in bath and massage oils and in skin care products. The geranium oil also has an insecticide effect.
- Important characterics: astringent, antiseptic, cleaning, refreshing. Helps with inflammation and acne, fosters wound healing, reduces scarring, can also be used to reduce cellulite, regulates hormone production and aids premenstrual and menopause complaints.
Grapefruit oil
CITRUS PARADISI- This essence is said to have a circulation enhancing effect. It stimulates the lymphatic system and has a purifying effect on the body. This is also the reason why it is found in many cellulite products. The skin firms up and is blood supply is generally improved. In contrast to other citrus oils it doesn’t sensitize the skin, so you can enjoy the sunshine without an increased risk of sunburn.
- Important characterics: astringent, cooling, firming, enhances circulation and stimulates the lymphatic system, abstergent, antiseptic. Grapefruit oil enhances the zest for life and lightness. It is stimulating and lifts the spirit, it is also said to have a slight euphoria effect.
Honey Absolue
HONEY ABSOLUE- This essential honey oil is extracted from honeycombs. The hexagon honeycomb of the bee colony is the source for the very valuable absolue. An absolue is an essential oil which is not extracted using steam distillation or cold pressing. The process to extract the oil from the honeycomb is very laborious. This is one of the special features of the precious essential honey oil.
Honey oil is often used in cosmetics for sensitive and inflamed skin e.g. in hand crèmes, body lotions, hair shampoos and in baby care products. The nourishing effect is accompanied by a pleasant smell and clean feel. A relaxing bath with a honey oil product after a hard day will help to regenerate the skin and is a blessing for the soul. - Important properties: calms sensitive and inflamed skin.
Camomile oil
CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA- The Roman camomile is also called the „plant doctor“ in the plant alchemies as it heals neighbouring plants from a wide range of illnesses. The plant has a great medicinal tradition. It is mentioned in books for over 2000 years.
The origin of the plant is the Mediterranean region. Today it is mainly grown in England. The plant is among nine holy plants of the Saxons. British herbal therapy uses it e.g. for digestive problems, sickness and nausea, flatulence and mental stress. It is the oil with the highest content of ester and is therefore a typical “psycho oil”. Ancient medicine describes its positive effect especially on psychological and nervous troubles. The strong scent is warm, refreshing, sweet and herbaceous, fruity-aromatic.
The oil is a great skin care product especially to reduce inflammation of ageing and stressed skin. Chamomile extract calms and refines the skin. - Important properties: very strong anticonvulsant properties, relaxing, balancing, aids wound healing, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and helps with skin allergies and skin inflammation.
Mountain pine oil
PINUS MONTANA- The mountain pine is a remedy from the mountainous regions of Central Europe. The tree with is crippled appearance is said to have healing effect on rheumatic illnesses and for joint and back pain. The oil is similar to the oil of the Swiss stone pine is often used in mixtures with greasy oils to maintain unvarnished wooden furniture. It is often used in perfumes with masculine notes. It is also used in bath oils, skin oils, air fresheners or ointments. Mountain pine oil has a very agreeable, balsam-sweet, spicy-wooden lasting scent.
- Important properties: It improves circulation, has anti-inflammatory effects and is painkilling. It is also very good for muscles and joints. It is an expectorant and reduces throat tickling.
Lavender oil
LAVENDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA- balancing, anti-inflammatory, cooling, calms the skin and is anticonvulsant.
Lemongrass oil
CYMBOPOGON CITRATUS- increases circulation, stimulates immune system and firms up soft connective tissue.
Lime oil
CITRUS AURANTIFOLIA- antiseptic, antiviral, refreshing and improves mood.
Bay leaf oil
LAURUS NOBILIS- good for muscle pains, rheumatism, tensions and sprains.
Mandarin oil
CITRUS MADURENSIS- strengthening, relaxing, anti-depressive and aids digestion.
Balm oil
MELISSA OFFICIANALIS- antiviral, strong anticonvulsant, painkilling, anti-inflammatory and lowers blood pressure.
Clary sage oil
SALVIA SCLAREA L- calming, relaxing, anticonvulsant, antiseptic and lowers blood pressure
Orange oil
CITRUS SINENSIS- balances greasy, impure skin and firms connective tissue
Palmarosa oil
CYMBOPOGON MARTINI- antiseptic, cares for skin, toning and strengthens immune system
Peppermint oil
MENTHA PIPERATA- anti-inflammatory, decongestant, strong anticonvulsant, painkilling and stimulating.
Rose wood oil
ANIBA ROSAE ODORA- calms the skin, refreshes and relaxes the muscles, anti-inflammatory.
Rosemary oil
